Does alcahol freez and at what temperature?!

Question:

Does alcahol freez and at what temperature?

Answers:
It doesn't freeze. In fact you can chill it in your feezer.

Well, I keep my vodka in my freezer and can still pour it.

maybe u should stik it in ur but an fine out but u bettir not get none dat doo doo on it cuz then you cant drink it

no, alcohol won't but beer and wine, and ready mixed drinks will.

Depends on the actual alcohol content...beer faster than Wine, wine faster than Vodka, say...stay close to the freezer!!!!
OOOOh...or maybe you've just discovered the best popsicle of all....

The easy answer to your question is because alcohol's freezing point is -117 degrees and water's freezing point is 0 degrees. Your refrigerator doesn't get cold enough to freeze alcohol.

A better answer is motion. A solid has very little motion of the molecules. As the heat is raised, the amount of motion increases. Eventually, the motion is large enough for the transition to a liquid to occur.

You would think that the size of the molecule would influence the freezing point temperature. And generally, it does. So why does alcohol, with a molecular wt of 46, freeze at a lower temperature than water, which has a molecular wt of 18? Another factor comes into play. This factor is called hydrogen bonding. It causes an increased attraction between molecules which makes them harder to separate(or put into motion). This raises the freezing point.

I hope this quick explanation helps.

Thanks.

Hello

Yes it does, depending on alcohol content. Pure alcohol would freeze at 173F/-114C.

Alcohol freezes at -173 degrees Fahrenheit!!

So I don't have to worry about my martinis in the freezer. ;)

Beer, Wine coolers, things like that will freeze, but hard liquor will not.

no alcohol freezes sorry

As you have read no alcohol does not freeze. But on the flip side of that water and other ingrediants do. So for a trial. lets say you put malibu in the freezer. Because it is only 30 proof it will freeze. But the pure alcohol in it will seperate and stay liquid. this can happen with other low proof liquors so check before you put it in the freezer.

hard liquor will not freeze in a regular freezer. the cool thing about coronas is you can put them in the freezer... they wont freeze.. but as soon as u take it out it will freeze solid within seconds. pretty cool trick. if you have a bottle of tequilla or vodka that freezes your prick friends drank all your liquor refilled it with water and stuck it back in.

All liquids freeze but are home refrigerators can not freeze everything.
Ethyl Alcohol (pure) freezes at -114 °C/-173 °F
A mix may freeze at higher temperatures.
Although a temperature of -273.15 has never been achieved.
If achieved it will freeze absolutely everything.

Alcohol is a broad category that has several forms some are given below:
Ethyl alcohol at -114 Degree celcius
Methyl alcohol at -134 Degree celcius
Propyl alcohol at -126 Degree Celcius
depends what are you looking for....

alcohol's freezing point is -117 degrees

no it doesnt freeze..well,it doenst mix by it's self but if u add some other liquid into it like water it could freeze..i THINK...but that's what i heard..soo yeaaa
