Answers: b/c there are strawberry fields forever

They call them strawberries because when you put them in a drink they clog up your straw!!!

are dingleberries dingle?

Are rasberries Rassy?

?????????????? i dont think so???????????????? im allergic to all the berries

Popular etymology has it that the name "straw" berry comes from gardeners' practice of mulching strawberries with straw to protect the fruits from rot (a pseudoetymology that can be found in non-linguistic sources such as the Old Farmer's Almanac 2005).

One theory is that woodland pickers strung them on pieces of straw to carry them to market. Others believe that the surface of the fruit looks as if it's embedded with bits of straw. Still others think that the name comes from the Old English word meaning to strew, because the plant's runners stray in all directions and look as if they are strewn on the ground.

Raspberries rasp, cranberries cran, boysenberries are for boys only, and loganberries are for people called logan! LOL

True berries are Blackcurrant, Redcurrant, Gooseberry. All the others are false berries, aggregate fruit, pepos, hesperidia, and other accessory fruit (botanical parlance).

No, duh........ they only call them that because when you drink them through a straw they get clogged up.
