Just keep it as airtight as possible. Even balancing a book on top of it will mean it's still (a bit) fizzy the following day.

the best way which i always use myself..is to use clingfilm and cover it as tight as possible the air just stretches the clingfilm but stays trapped inside....still as fizzy as ever when you next drink it

Keep it airtight and as cold as possible without freezing. CO2's solubility is temperature dependent. The warmer the liquid the less CO2 it will hold.

just finish it all up......

shouldve finished it, or just open a new oneee

I do this all the time like if i get up in the mid of the night and open a can. Huge Coke drinker here, I always put a piece of press in seal over the top of the can or plastic wrap but make sure its tight, that's why i use Press n seal. Good Luck!!

The problem is the carbonation escapes and the soda goes flat. It is why I don't like to buy 2 liter bottles because the last couple of glasses are always flat.

Keeping the soda cold and covered helps, but here's a trick ... if you have some cola that has gone flat then mix it in a glass with an equal amount from a freshly opened can. There will be more than enough carbonation for it to taste just fine.
