Why don't I like rum, or beer?!

Question: I am a vodka connoisseur - from Absolut, to Grey Goose, to Skyy, to Finlandia - whatever brand it may be, I am always a happy camper. I can even bear a shot of Patron tequila. But I can't bear even the scent of a fine beer! And rum? It always tastes medicinal to me, except for a tiny shot of coconut rum that I had once in a mixed cocktail with Midori and Vodka. Any ideas for what I might like/try, or how to grow more accustomed to rum/beer?

Its not written anywhere "asdf MUST like and drink rum and/or beer."

Drink those beverages which you prefer. If you are going to a party and those folks nay not know what you prefer, there isn't anything wrong with bringing your own, is there?

If you do bring your own, you should have an extra bottle for those folks who might prefer the vodka. AND you might make some new friends!

Thanks for asking your Q! I enjoyed answering it!

  • keep drinking both until you get used to the taste if you really want to. or just stick with vodka.

Some people just don't like certain things, that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. You cant really change what you like and what you don't like. If you want to drink this stuff without spitting it out you probably have to mix it with something (like juice, soda, etc).

    Everyone has different tastes.

its a fixed taste often. plus taste is semi-genetic. if your parents hate it you will probably at least dislike it.

Everyones taste is different. I CANNOT drink gin or scotch. I just live with it. There are plenty of alternatives.

Neither do I......it's just a personal preference.
