I am looking to find a bottle of wine that was bottled in a particular month...?!

Question: Can anyone give me some direction as to where to find this?

Answers: Can anyone give me some direction as to where to find this?

Most wineries pick certain types of grapes, make the wine and bottle the wine on a schedule that would be specific to a type of wine. For example, California Merlot wineries would all be bottling their Merlot around the same time of the year. The schedule for other wine types could vary but should be consistent with the wines in their area. Somewhere in the world, wine is being bottled every month.

I'm not sure what you are looking for. Do you want ANY bottle that was bottled in June of 2005 (for example) because you are celebrating a particular date?

start with the vineyard or label of the wine and go from there. if you can't find any info, you may need to email them or call them. another way would be to call your local wine shop. not a supermarket, but a specific wine shop. you'll find a somolier or someone equally knowelgable to help you out or point you in a better direction.

Unless its blended as in a sherry or other blended wine, most wine is bottled from September to mid-to-late November.

Great question.
You would have to take into consideration many different variables.
First: Where were the grapes grown? If they were grown in the northern hemisphere they were picked in autumn months and if in the southern hemisphere it would be the opposite. Second: How long does that particular winery age that particular wine? If it's a large winery they may have a specific time set aside to bottle wines, if it's a smaller winery the wine may just be bottled whenever it tickles someones fancy.
Third: What type of wine are you looking to purchase? Different types of wine are aged for different lengths of time and would be bottled separately.

I think your best bet would be to call the winery and ask.

Well, the best way to do that is to buy it directly from a particular winery at that winery.

Generally, Napa and Sonoma wineries will tell its wine club members when a particular bottles are ready. They will tell you when it was bottled and what are coming up.

They have barrel tasting during Spring, they will usually tell you when they will bottle the wine.
