Personally, I drink out of a 1litre mug I grabbed last time I was at the October Fest in Munchen. Thing holds 2 1/2 12 oz bottles. I STILL ONLY count that as one!!

It depends on your idea of what a beer is. You are drinking 48 ozs, so that wold either be 4 - 12 oz beers or 8 - 6 oz beers.
