Club soda instead of tonic with my gin? What to do?!

Question: I wanted to make a gin tonic but poured club soda instead. Should i try and make it into something else? If so what? Or should i just drink it?

Gin and Soda is perfectly acceptable, and some prefer it.

Throw in some fresh lime juice and a little sugar and you've got a gin rickey!

i actually like my gin with club soda, a few dashes of angostura bitters and a lemon wedge.

I would add lime juice or pour it out and make a new one.

It might be good. Go ahead and drink it. If you find it's nasty, then dump it out and try again. Would be a waste if the gin is really good though.

Ok, club soda does the job when you want to make that. It's kind of fizzy but mixes well with gin and/or tonic. Hopefully the drink will be to your liking. Let us know how it tastes!

Put it in a pitcher, add some more gin, and then add tonic. That should dilute the non-flavor of the soda enough to make it drinkable, plus, you'll have enough for the rest of the night.

How tough are you?

Either slam it down and suffer, or

Pour it out and start over.

Jradi's got the right idea! A gin rickey is one of my favorite cocktails. Fresh lime goes great with the natural botanical flavor of gin.

If the taste is still to dry for you, try a splash of Rose's sweetened lime juice.
