I believe wine is a personal thing, but my suggestions will be my faves... Champagne - cant go past Yellowglen, Yellow or Pink, and for a nice sweet wine I love Brown Brothers Moscato. Champagnes you can pick up at liquorland for $10 and Moscato can range from $10 - $15. Have a great nite.

Ouidinot extra dry. Will run you about 35 bucks. Something cheaper? Try a nice Reisling or Gewurzintraimer, both German dessert wines. The Spatlese is a little less sweet on that end.

rose is what i find to be the best, laurent perrier rose champagne is not too expensive but not cheap either, but its easy to drink

For really special occasions, my favourite always was Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Yellow Label Brut Champagne.
The cost around 35 to 45 dollars, depending where you live.
It's well worth the price.
For something a little cheaper but also excellent would be a Sparkling Muscato from Italy. Fantastic aromas and flavours.
One of the best is the Moscato di Trani, made on Adriatic in the town of the same name in Apulia.

I agree! The Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Yellow Label Brut Champagne is fabulous! You can't go wrong with this. I also love red wines but champagne just seems to make things more romantic and special.

I LOOOOOOOVE chaucer's pomegranite!!!!!!!

Everyone's taste is different so it is hard to judge.

I would start with some sparkling wine (Muscot de Astis are good). Then I would either go with Pinot Noir or Cabernet depending what kind of food you are serving. Then I will end the dinner with desert wine. (Trentadue makes Chocolate Amore that is interesting and different). You don't have to finish each bottle. But it is a nice combination.

~$12+$15+$25 = $52. Shouldn't cost more than $60.

An inexpensive sweet champagne that is readily available would be Ballatore Asti Spumante, which can usually be found for less than $10.
