What's the legal drinking age in the u.k.?!

Question:

What's the legal drinking age in the u.k.?

Answers:
The Law in UK is as follows. This is for drinking which is the question.

18 in public places, you can purchase beer and cider to drink at age 16 to eat with your meal but not at a bar only at a restaurant. The minimum age is 5 with parental consent and thats at home, so I should not feel guilty giving my son that sip of champagne at Xmas (he spat it out anyway) waste of Dom perignon.

So the answer to your question is actually five years old

Have a look at the link its interesting all the countries around the world and there drinking age. MDA minimum drinking age

Well there is actually no legal drinking age as such. A person can drink alcohol at any age from about the age of 5 or something - it is the buying of alcohol that is prohibited until the age of 18. Also (i'm not sure of the minimum age) but a person under the age of 18 is allowed a glass of alcohol whilst eating in a restaurant when and only when accompanied by an adult.

You have to be 18 to purchase alcohol. At 16 in a restaurant, or pub, with a meal and not after, you can purchase one only glass of wine, single spirit and mixer, half a lager, beer or cider only to go with your meal, alchopops are not allowed, and it is at the managers discretion whether you must have a parent or gardian with you. Money will not be accepted for an alcoholic beverage by somebody under the age of 18, so you have to have somebody over the age of 18 with you.
Parents can purchase half a beer, or half a lager shandy for a child over the age of 5, providing it is with a meal and not afterwards.
At the managers discretion, a single shot of brandy or whiskey can be given to parents for teething babies to rub on their gums, however, with the introduction of teething gels, it is rarely ever offered or asked for.
It is also at the managers discretion whether or not to allow anyone under 18 to drink alchohol at all.
Parents can give whatever they want to their children within their own home over the age of 5, but obviously parents should be responsible with this. A small galss of wine on christmas day doesnt really do a child any harm.

18, but most people ova here start drinkin round the age of 14/15.(well i did anyway)
