Is there anything you can do before sleep to avoid a major hangover...?!
Answers: if you know you've had too much to drink? Any suggestions?
I discovered these "Drink-Ease" pills at my health food store and I swear by them. They are a homeopathic remedy (the ingredients are on the box and they have a pretty good website). You pop one or two with a big glass of water before bed and you're fine. I used to get the WORST hangovers, even when I drank water before I went to sleep. Now the worst it gets is I'm a bit tired and achy, but I am pretty much fully functional.
From my experience in the military...the best thing is for you to drink a couple of shots of maalox.
Drink water. Hangovers are mostly from dehydration during sleep.
Plenty of water.
Drinking less is the only sure way to have less of a hangover. Not drinking at all is the best preventive move you can make.
Take three coated aspirins and drink three glasses of water. The aspirins will help the headache and lower the diuretic effect of the alcohol (which dehydrates you), and the extra water will help to rehydrate you.
drink Gatorade and eat a piece of bread. then the next day keep drinking Gatorade. if you stay hydrated then next day won't feel so bad.
Before bed, eat something starchy to absorb some alcohol-bread's good or salted crackers. Drink some water. Set your alarm 2 hrs. before you need to get up. When(and if) you wake, drink the water and take one aspirin that you've conveniently left beside your bed. Also, eat more crackers. Reset your alarm for the next hr. When you wake again, repeat. Try this only if aspirin doesn't make you drowsier.
Drink plenty of water while you are still drinking. A hangover is do to dehydrations - ADH antidiuretic hormone that in inhibited because of the alcohol that you are putting into your body! So drink plenty of water before, during and after and you will feel a total diiference the next day!
Don't take aspirin, especially if you are drinking enough alcohol to get a hangover. You will kill your liver. Your liver can only filter about a beer an hour (less with harder alcohol) and even that causes damage. Taking aspirin is just as hard on the liver, so taking them both together can kill you in a matter of days. When the liver breaks down alcohol in the liver it creates a chemical called acetaldehyde. The build up of this is toxic and causes the sick feelings. Alcohol also dehydrates you because it is a diuretic. Drinking water before bed can solve part of your problem, dilute the rest of the alcohol waiting to be processed, and possibly help flush out some toxins.
A hangover is 75% dehydration drink lots of water
Charcoal tablets with an alka seltzer just before laying down in bed!
Water about 1 litre... then half a bottle of sports drink... do not eat you will probably wake up during the night and feel like crap... in the morning drink some fresh orange carrot and ginger juice it will stop nausea and have something light for breakfast such as some toast with vegemite or promite the vitamin b1 will be your saviour....
Water. But don't do what i did and skoll down 3 litres without stopping. I vomited all 3 litres of water and it wasn't pretty!! It was worse than the hangover I could have prevented!
But in all seriousness, they say you should have 1 glass for every standard drink you've had during the night - but if you lost count that won't help you much!
3 advil
if you're drinking "mix drinks" drink water too thru out the night, then pop the advil before you go to sleep.
I usually drink a lot of water, and pop two tylenol before I go to sleep. If the room is spinning when I shut my eyes, I try to stay up a little while and do some stuff around the house so that i'm not dizzy when i lay down. This usually works for me! Here's a link to an article talking about hangover prevention that you might wanna check out.

4 aspirin, a B complex and 1000 mg vitamin C with a BIG glass of WATER.
Incidentally taking Tylenol aka acetaminophen while drinking is not good at all, your liver is already working overtime, don't totally destroy it.
