I don't think it's necessarily a matter of how much as different amounts of alcohol affect people differently. Perhaps a more accurate measure would be whether you crave alcohol in inappropriate places and times.

Another teltale sign would be a craving for alcohol as a general rather than a fancying something specific, if you wanted a beer but didn't have any in the house would you not bother drinking, or turn to the next alcoholic drink?

you want to become and alcoholic??

none, its a chemical disease of the brain. dependence is a whole nother ball of wax. most say 2 drinks 3 times a week.

You are an alcoholic if you cannot pass a shop or bottle without having to get a drink, even if you have not had a single drink yet.

I really hope your joking....but let me tell you that being an alcoholic is determined by not how much you drink but how you aquire that drink. They look at a few key points.

- How do you act without alcohol, and how long can you last without suffering from physical withdrawal symptoms?

-Do you spend the majority of your time consuming alcohol, or pursueing it?

- Is your personal life being affected by alcohol? Are you missing work, falling behind in bills, fighting with your spouse/parents/friends?

Being an alcoholic isn't a thing to achieve, it's nothing to be proud about so if by chance you were serious (which I doubt) you need to think about the seirous consequences of becoming addicted to a liquid. Why don't you take a trip down to a local AA meeting and see what alcohol can do to you. Listen to some of the stories, even if you aren't an alcoholic or attempting to become one this will help answer your questions.
