Fat Yanks

Anything to do with the French

Au contraire! I'm a good American girl and I love Bud!

Bet you knew from their girth and comedy dress sense that they were American before they opened their mouths though.

often steroetypes Do have some basis in truth

for example people from somewhere tend to like etthnic food fron their own reqions

also some cultural stereotypes like German people being quiet seem true, at least from what I have seen

its important to remember they are not always true and people are individuals, from whatever culture

My stereo type is a Bose, and it seems to be correct

when you got your pints of bud those times did you tip the bartender at all?
Orlando and Dayton beach (where i bartend at) are known for their European travelers. They have a tendency to receive their drinks Give a nice hardy "Cheers" and walk away without tipping. I'm not saying that this happens all the time. But it is understood throughout the bartending world not to expect too much out of that group..

For those of you wondering why, its because tipping isn't that huge in Europe. Everywhere you go in the states its done but in Europe not so much.

I am half Brit, half American, have lived in both countries for years at a time, have a passport from both but sound american.

Could just be that you had two big beers but not really likely. You can usually pick out a european by the way they walk, hold themselves or by the way they dress. Or a neckless or wrist bracelet on a guy. But the average american unless extremely well traveled is not going to be able to nail the specific country.

So for some guys getting drunk to make a comment like that probably has something to do with the tip thing. Brits have a reputation for not really understanding the finer points of tipping. So for these guys to say this....... I bet the bartender took your money and made a face or something as he was putting it in his jar. Or when you were walking away he did the same for all to see as he picked up your money.

slag off, wanker.
