Question:

Where is the Maker's Mark distillery, and why is it unique?

Answers:
Loretta Kentucky
they advertize they are the smallest family owned distillery in the US. If you live within 500 miles, itis worth the drive, I am in florida and 750 miles away and am driving up this summer for my personalized quart of special brew for us "ambasadors of good spirits by Maker's Mark"

Loretto, KY the first distillery listed as a National Historic Landmark and the only one where the landmark buildings are still used for distillation.

Also the burbons are not aged for a specific legnth of time but each barrell is tasted by their experts and sold when they feel it is at peak flavor

Oh and the previous answer is incorrect.. The brand is owned by Fortune Brands who bought it frp, Allied Domecq. Fortune also owns Canadian Club, Courvoisier, and Sauza. The family runs the distillery but they now work for Fortune Brands.
