You normally serve red wine at room temp but it does not hurt to chill a red for 15 to 20 min before opening. some people think it helps open up the flavors of the wine. yes you would normally serve a red with spaghetti as long as it is in a red sauce, you can even add a little to the sauce while cooking to enhance the sauce.

A nice fruity red is great with spagetti (red sauce, right?). Red should be cooler than room temp. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes before serving or you taste too much alcohol.

red zin, room temp is bet 40-50, then yes and red wine is good on any pasta with meat. esp pork or beef

Red wine was around long before room temperature was 22C (72F). The room temperature in the unheated houses of centuries past was generally cooler. Around 16C (60F). So take the others advice and put in the fridge for 10 to 20 min.
Red sauce = red wine
White sauce = white wine

Room temperature is really meant to be cellar temperature @ 55-60 degrees F.
Also, open the wine at least 1/2 hour before serving so the wine can breath & mellow.
Lastly, get a decent wine at a decent price. Cabernets are full bodies & hearty. Pinot noir a little lighter. Beaujolais are lighter and less tannic ( sweeter).
If you are a novice, spaghetti with a heavy red sauce would be best with Chianti Classico Reserva .
