Which alcoholic drinks do you not mix?!

Question: I remember being told a while ago that you get an awful hangover from drinking beer and wine in a short amount of time. (Which I know from experience is true!)
I have a bad habit of mixing drinks when I go out, since I get bored of drinking just wine, or just cider, etc!
Is mixing cider and vodka a bad idea? I have a tendency to drink a vodka-based drink, and then cider not too long after. I'm always careful when I do this, however!
But my question is, is mixing vodka and cider as bad as mixing wine and beer?

Don't mix gin, and don't mix Tequilla.

In general I think you get sick more if you mix any alchohol that is sweet with that which isn't. I think it's because even though the alchohol gets into your system, the sugary fluids kind of hang out in the tummy waiting to pay homage to the porcelein gods.

I find the best thing to do is get some food in your system BEFORE drinking. It slows the ability for your system to process the alchohol. I heard a lecture once that eating greasy food is the best. But if you eat after already overdoing it, your tummy doesn't want anymore and it's booty time, and not in a good way.

Vodka is the best mixer for booze though. It has very few impurities.

it's all good

i heard about wine and beer as well. but i dont have problem :)
vodka and cider are not bad idea i think. but tonic water is better than cider i think.
i love vodka, tonic water and lime a lot.

Southern Comfort and Beer for me will give me the worst hangover.

The saying goes, beer on whiskey mighty risky, whiskey on beer have no fear.

in theory, switching between different types of alcohols shouldn't make you any more hungover than just sticking to one type.

however, the reason most people this that it does is because when you are constantly switching up what you are drinking you often end up drinking more.

just think about it... for example, instead of having say 7 or 8 beers, you're having 3 beers, a glass of wine, 2 shots of vodka, a rum and coke, a whiskey sour, a shot of tequila, and then another beer to cap it off. thats a total of 10 drinks, but when you're at a bar it won't seem like it was that much until the next morning.

in addition, it's simply harder to keep track of how much you've had to drink when you've had a lot of different stuff... did you drink two rum and cokes between the shots of whiskey or did you drink three? who knows.

i think the whole argument that mixing drinks gives you hangovers is b.s. if the mixing results in the same amount of alcohol being consumed. the reason you get more hungover is that you end up just drinking more!

yea i wouldnt mix vodka and cider

Don't mix in any thing with milk in it...like a Grasshopper...bad mojo there bud.

mostly, you should not drink malt liquor and hard liquor together, that will give you a massive hang over!
