Names of drinks?!

Question:

Names of drinks?

What is with the rather uncreative monikers people give shots. They tend to center around overtly sexual phrases or just plain cussing. I do not think I need to give examples, but I was just wondering. I am not trying to be a snob since I really do not care but I am just wondering about it.

Answers:
bartenders are horndogs and their brains are in the gutter.

They have probably taste tested 40 of them b4 naming them!!!

The only things I will drink in a shot are either a really good tequila, no lemon or salt, or Tuaca as cold as you can get it. I don't go for all the names, but stick to the basics.

I hear you cowboy!

Some friends and I thought there were so many ridiculous names for shots out there. We decided to make our own. It's called 'Pig on a Stick'. Vodka, Bailey's, Butterscotch Schnapps. Goes down pretty darn good!

Now, it's not famous yet, but we're hoping it will catch on.

There is a point to my story... If you're not happy with the names, just make up your own!

It's probably all a plot by the wineries. There are lots of kinds of wine with good names. They want people to walk into a bar and order wine because they're too embarrassed to ask the bartender for a purple &^@#%!

Bars are places where people go to "pick-up" others. Alcohol is a mild depressant that enhances relaxation. Look at the patrons who buy shots - they tend to be the younger and wilder folks in the bar. Sexual overtones go with that environment.

I named 2 drinks both with mountain dew, the first is the best, the Jew Gin and dew is the Jew,,, everyone should have a jew on christmas eve. the second is the Voodoo, Vodka and mountain dew, to make the voodoo.

Its just fun to say, I'd like to order a screaming vagina please. And from there I think the trend of naming drinks dirty names just caught on and it hasn't worn out yet.

It is just fun for some people to say I guess. When I was bartending though it really annoyed me when someone had some "specialty" drink that was served at the last bar they went to regularly and they expect everyone to know it. They forget that depending on where you live etc. the drink may have a differant name...or may not be common at all. It's really annoying. If your bartender doesn't know it...just tell them.

they need to attract people

like "wow this sounds cool, ill do a shot"

all advirtisement

The fun and way of drinking it. We have 'blo* job' and 'se* on the beach' here. Blo* job was shots of kalua with whip cream, we tend to have whip cream spray on our friends, lick it and drink the shots. Sex on the beach are harmful vodka and punch, normally comes in dozen shots.
