Alcohol (like coffee) is a diuretic and dehydrates you. If you're planning on drinking, have a couple of bottles of water before you go out, and alternate alcoholic drinks with bottled water throughout the evening.

Alcohol dehydrates you.

dry mouth is a sign of dehydration and alcohol dehydrates you but dont drink water unless you want to be all shades of messed up again. drink orange juice or gatorade

Alcohol dehydrates your whole body, its just part of your hangover. To stop this happeing drink lots of water in the morning/before you go to sleep. Or just don't drink alcohol...
