No. Its a urban legend (as well as eating the worm in Mescal purported to do the same). It seems to stem from the state of mind one is in after consuming enough of that stuff to consider eating the bug on the bottom.
Try it, and see.

Ive got two here in a bottle and not game to eat em ! Heard they get you pretty pissed but not sure how much if you just ate em and didn't drink.
My brother has eaten the worm at the bottom and nothing happened to him...so I guess you are fine.
