What kind of wine would I like if I want a really good, sweet wine with little taste of alcohol.?!

Question: I like beer and when I drank, I drank Smirnoff ice or Keystone Light. But it's been so long since I drank so I can't hardly handle the alcohol taste any more. Give me suggestions please!!

You absolutely should try Riesling, a fruity German wine with a very low alcohol content (I can't even taste it). I'd recommend looking for "Auslese" on the bottle.

Any decent Beaujolais or Chardonnay will be fine. Some Chardonnays are sweeter than others so when you go to the wine shop just ask for one that is light and fruity.

it sounds like you wouldn't want wine at all. . .

I'd say stick with the smirnoff ice or some cocktails until you can handle the alcohol again. Wine is strong stuff by nature - you won't enjoy it if you don't like alcohol!

Extra dry vermouth and club soda would be very desireable to you I bet with a dash of cheap Gin.

Try some White Zinfandel.

Lambrusco is pretty sweet.

A good German Riesling. Try a Doctor Loosen or a JJ Prum. I buy mine on Napacabs.com. You won't be disappointed.

Definitely a Riesling, Vidal or Gewürztraminer. Ice Wines are very good and particularly sweet, if you're into the really sweet dessert wines.

Being a huge advocate of beer I have to at least suggest you try a Lindeman's Framboise Lambic (it's not your average run of the mill beer) or maybe even mead. Mead? It's basically fermented honey. Very sweet and tasty. The Lambic is a fruit infused beer that I have used in the past to fool woman into changing thier minds about beer. It's funny to see the expression on thier face AFTER I tell them it's beer. :)

If you want something inexpensive try a Blush or White Zinfandel. Rieslings are good but the sweeter ones start climbing in price.
If you want to go with a Pop wine, (not a real wine but a mixture of wine and juices) Arbor Mist is OK.
Stay away from the fortified wines because they're sweet but are higher in alcohol and have a distinct alcohol twang.

Wild Irish Rose or Thunderbird
