What to do at a party if you don't fit in?!

Question: My friends invited to a party for next weekend and I have never been to a party. All of my friends drink, but I don't. However, I am not opposed to drinking if it will help me fit in. I also don't dance, so how can I survive this party without looking like an idiot? Thanks. Also, I am a guy by the way.

And by drinking I don't mean getting wasted, I just mean drinking a beer so I don't get heat from others. And believe me, EVERYONE else will be drinking.

Go to the party, there is a first time for everything and sometimes you just have to bite the bullet to meet new people. If you don't want to drink, then don't.

If you do drink, don't be retarded about it since you probably don't know what your limits are. I'm a small guy (135 pounds) and after three drinks in about an hour I have a very good buzz going. Have a couple of drinks once you get there, probably cheap beer. And then just nurse a beer every hour or so.

And trust me, there will be plenty of people not dancing as well. Whatever you do, don't be that idiot who has never drank before and gets wasted, pukes in the corner, says stupid things to everyone, and never gets invited back. Moderation, man.

I don't know how old you are, but regardless-you do not have to dronk to fit in! If you want to be REALLY cool by NOT drinking-tell everyone you are the designated driver!

College parties are notoriously lame. The fools don't understand how to drink properly or responsibly.

If you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to go, then go, but don't drink. It'll be terrible beer anyway. If people give you flak for not drinking then they are just jerks, and why would you want to fit in with a bunch of jerks?

And learn how to dance. It's a good life skill to have.

Thats crazy thinking.
You'll fit in if you don't dance and drink.
I never danced or drank and all my friends did.
Nothing happened, I'm still alive and well.

Peer pressure?
Kid stuff!

Just be your own man.
Don't worry about the other guy( or what he thinks).

Do what is natural to you and let them accept you as you accept them.

Act as the good guy that will drive people home if they get too drunk. Makes you look like the resposible one, besides it can be funny watching what some of the drunk people do...

Just socialize and tell them an excuse for not drinking like your the designated driver or something.

the only way you can stick out is if your by yourself sulking...if you talk and mingle you should be fine.

You can also have fun laughing at the drunks

How old are you? I would not encourage underage drinking. Also even if you're old enough I wouldn't recommend drinking if you're not used to it, you'll end up making an *** out of yourself, even if you have just one beer. Your friends wouldn't have invited you if they didn't like you for who you are. Just go and be yourself, plus if EVERYONE else is drinking they'll be acting like idiots so just play along and you'll be fine.

Why don't you try being the sober driver. EVERYONE loves the sober driver.

Walk around, talk to people, dancing doesn't happen unless everyone is really **** faced so even if you're bad no one notices. Drink man, have a good time, live while you're still alive. Enjoy yourself, part of fitting in is not being too up tight. Just chill dude.
