You may be borderline diabetic, go and get checked - when faced with more alcohol than it can deal with the liver shuts down and your blood sugar can fall dangerously low, causing black outs. While you're waiting for your appointment, make sure you eat when you drink, to help slow down the absorption of alcohol.
If in UK, Lloyds Pharmacies offer over the counter diabetes tests. Please go and have it done, diabetes is not just an inconvenience, it can affect eyesight and mobility, if the test's negative, you can at least congratulate yourself on your health.

What size of glasses are they? Seems unusual.

maybe you have low blood pressure...that makes you faint at times.

This doesn't sound normal, especially if it's new to you. You should definitely get checked out for diabetes. Alcohol+diabetes is not a good combination (I say this having had a diabetic friend go into a coma the day after a big drinking session...

Worth doing

Good luck

Don't drink red wine!!!!!

I am really interested in the answers to this as the same thing happens to me.

Tannins affect people seriously you should stick to white wine and call it a day.

WHAT SIZE? AND IF YOU DO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING DRINKING.

So I'm not the only one! It happened to me twice a couple of years ago. I'm 64 and I take medication for high blood pressure. Both times I was talking to someone on the telephone. (I'm one of those people who always stands up when on the phone). I didn't faint, I didn't lose consciousness, I simply fell apart. I picked myself up immediately, but it was scary. Waiting to see an explanation.

you might be diabetic
