Good Store bought wine?!

Question:

Good Store bought wine?

Not really a wine drinker, just heard that a glass a day is good for you. Well, if thats the case then I want something that tastes the way great wine should but can be purchased at the local store. So tell all the good stuff red white pink oh and something that will give a good buzz with one glass or at leased will have things looking up if you know what i mean.

Answers:
Get a low- or middle-priced chilean wine. Rosés are quite good and soft, and women seem to like them. Personally I prefer dark reds. Merlots are always good.
Can't fail.

Shiraz or Caberet Sauvengian (sorry for the spelling) are very mild red wines. Look at the label on the back and buy one without too much oak residuals. Berringer and Sutter Home are inexpensive and readily available. They are the better of the "cheaper" wines.

I buy Wild Vines' Blackberry Merlot. I do not like wine, but this is good stuff. It is like $3 a bottle. Schnucks, Kroger, and Wal-Mart carry that I know of.

I'm assuming you aren't looking for the screw top kind, if you are not much of a wine drinker, like myself, then you'll want to stay away from red. Try a Pinot Grigio Bella Sera, or a nice white Zinfendal made by Beringers, very light and fruity, good starter.

Most can be picked up in your local supermarket, if your supermarket sells wine.

Enjoy

Rosenblum Zinfandel Cuvee is a good choice. Other good choices are: Columbia Crest Merlot, Greg Norman Estates Cabernet, Jacobs Creek Shiraz, and Hawk's Crest Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon.

These are all red wines...which are the wine that is good for your health.

Cheers!

If it's sold in a box or a bag, it's probably a good idea!

i've had various wines at home, resturants, etc and my favorite brand by FAR is Turning Leaf... red, white, blush, dry... no matter what you get it's always good and i'm not normally a red wine fan.

Red wines are what are labeled as "good for your health" but drink what taste best for you and drink in moderation. Anything will be bad for you if consumed in large quantities especially wine which can contain alot of sugar. But again one glass of wine a day can't be bad for you whether its white or red.

As far as taste and store sold brands I like and recommend to people for white I'd go with a schmitt sohne riesling or Columbia Riesling (not to be confused with columbia crest).

For red its all depends on if you are newer to red wines or not. If completely new to red wine go with something not to strong like a shiraz or if you like a merlot go with that as far as the brand try either woodbridge or mondavi shiraz or merlot.

If really new to wine start with a sweeter white wine ( like the riesling mentioned above) to get a taste for what wines are taste like and then build up from there. A great way to do this is to walk into a wine store and get a recommendations after you've tried a few on your own. ALl brands mentioned above can be found at any drugstore or market that sells wine.

I've always like Berenger Founder Estate Merlot, but if you want something a little cheaper stick with Sutter Home Merlot. Here's a site where you can get some ideas of what you might want. www.beringer.com. Some good food ideas with the wine, makes you look knowledgeable at a restaurant w/ your friends too.
