alcohol does taste nasty, but i drink it anyways. just dont be a party pooper, if someone offers you a drink, take it and drink only a little of it
lol you're confusing the alcohol as being the fun, its not.. its the tool for fun so yea partaking in it to increase the fun is cool but if you want to be "boring" like your friends say then thats your call
It's just fun to see your friends act stupid and for them to see you act stupid. It's just cool to have the whole world spin like crazy and do things you wouldn't dare do if you were sober :P

2.) While some people use drinking as their only means to have fun, many see it as a social lubricant or a means of enhancing the fun that already exists.
3.) It often makes people feel invincible.
4.) The social lubricant aspect proves well for the "Awesome drunk story."

6.) Being completely inebriated and barely conscious (only able to rest your heads between your legs... while one of the worst feelings ever, is also one of the most comforting/relaxing/sedating experiences ever.
Not all alcohol tastes bad. You need to get the straight up alcohol. You can make mixers. I recommend UV Blue with Mt. Dew and Sunny D. (any of the UVs are god)
But to answer the question, its just a way to let people goof off and no one is going to really take them seriously.
Find Friends who don't call you boring.
You are not a "party pooper" that is the worst answer possible. Do what you are naturally inclined to do and don't worry about what other people think
They drink alcohol to provide copious quatities of tax revenue for the respective countries, and without their cooperation your own taxes would be higher.
They drink alcohol for temporary mental release from whatever reality they've found themselves in.
They drink alcohol, just because they like too, and to build and maintain social circles found with that activity.
They drink to keep the premises open all year, so that when you decide to partake, the bars, restaurants will still be in business...just to take your order.
They drink alcohol, because the prices of the alternative "soft" or low alcohol drinks are almost without exception comparible to the fully taxed alcaholic beverage.

People drink alcohol because they want to and they enjoy it for any number of reasons. They say you are boring because you are boring. Not because you don't drink, but because you are actually boring. When people are drunk, they have very little inhibitions, and they say what they are thinking. All your friends think you are boring as hell, they hope you'll get drunk, because maybe, you'll be fun then. The only time they can say that honestly, is when they're loaded and feel free enough to admit the truth about how they feel about you. Drunk people say what sober people think.
I was a casual drinker, don't care for it much anymore. I used to go out to clubs all the time 10 years ago. If you want to find out who sounds stupid and boring, just go to a club one half hour before closing time as a sober person and hang out with the drunks. Then observe, try to figure out who acts rather pointless and boring. .lol . you or the other guys..

People drink alcohol because they like to, and they tell you you are boring because they are insufferable bastards who cannot imagine having a good time without alcohol involved.
Luckily, most people grow out of this after a few years, and stop feeling that (you) need to partake in their addiction to "have fun".
