Do you guys like.....?!

Question:

Do you guys like.....?

Probably our(New Zealands') best known 'export beer' is Steinlager.....Have many Americans heard of it and is it popular? What do you think it's like in comparrison to American beers? Do they sell any other 'Kiwi' beers over there? feedback'd be great.....

Answers:
Steinlager is not really popular in the USA per se, but I have had it, and I did enjoy it quite a bit.

Quite frankly, I hate American beer. With a passion. I see people around me knocking back Sam Adams or Michelob and the stuff really just tastes horrible. Give me a good dark lager, a fosters, or even a Japanese brew over the domestic stuff. Unfortunately, it's very hard to get imported alcohol (other than Heineken), unless one lives close to a specialty liquor store.

It can be a trick to find such a store in a rural area, but if you're in a good sized city, odds are that there will be at least one place that stocks your 'Kiwi' beverages.

Never heard of it, but I'd be happy to try free sample case.

love it.

I'm not fund of American Beer. Dutch Beer is better like Heineken, Grols, Wite Wiekse. Beer from Belgium is good to like Trapist or Duval MMMMMMMMMMM

Hadit. It's okay, in comparison to most American lagers, which aren't that great. You should try Shiner Bock if you can find it. Probably can't, it's difficult to find outside of the U.S. But a VERY good beer. It beats the hell out of Coors light, which tastes like piss. Probably because Coors light is, in fact, piss. I should know: after 6 to 8 Shiners, I hit the urinal, and Coors light comes out of me!

honestly ive never had it, but here is what a few people think about it :

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/915...

They describe the taste being dominated by a sweet fruity malt, and "barely a hint of hops" so to be honest i dont really know if i'd like this beer. I've had a few euro pale lagers (the style) that seemed ok, but they had a more pronounced hop presance than this appears to have. But you know, no matter what the best way to decide if you like something is to pick up a 6pack and enjoy, thats what i think ill do.

It's rating of 75 is pretty good for its style, the 10th best beer for this style in the world (according to this website) is rated an 82 so this is not that much lower.
