Smoking was banned in SC bars... but I still smell like smoke. What's up with that?

Smoking in the bathrooms is my guess, happens all the time even thought it's a felony.
without total remodel paint and carpet the odor will remain.
Perhaps there are people who smoked right before they went into the restaurant, and they transferred the smell to you.

Smoke clings to fabric and breath. Also it's easy to detect it if you are sensitive to that odor.
The smoke can also drift from someplace where people are sneaking a smoke -- either in the bathroom, stairwell, or near one of the exit doors. Maybe workers on break, relax and have a smoke.
