Why do people label other people? dose it make other people feel better??!

Question: Labels-a short word or phrase descriptive of a person, group, and so on.
Its another way to name some one we all do it not as a way to make one feel better.

Children use labels as a teasing tool. If an adult does this then they are showing insecurities about them selves.

yea there is a certain satisfaction being able to use labels with negative connotations.. like alcoholic, puritan, obese etc.

Labels come with specific generalizations that make it easy for the individual who cannot even begin to perceive who the person they label are really like. In other words why step out of your comfort zone and get to know a person when its easy to assume with the many labels available at a whim.

It is simply descriptive. It is not that others feel better but when they are describing you the person they are talking to knows what you are talking about.

Those dam "puritans".

Douchey is right.
10 pts for him!
I'm giving him a thumbs up.

Something like (oh lets be original)
"drinking for dummies".

because we are naturally inclined to categorise everything. That's why we make so many top 10 lists and why everything has a breed, species and so on.
