Good music
Good media, like movies or videos, but keep down the audio (closed captioned, etc) to keep the music in focus
Pay attention to the directions your guests want to go in.
Allow others to do what you would have liked to be able to do at a party you went to that was bad. Do the opposite of the bad party.
