Can anyone recommend a good full bodied Shiraz?!

Question:

Can anyone recommend a good full bodied Shiraz?

Answers:
All comes down to budget. If money is no object, then go the the Rhone region in France and try as some have said Chateau Neuf du Papes. But there is a region called Vacqueryas that produce some stunners and don't hit the pocket as hard as CNP.
Australians are known for Shiraz, and there is a producer called St. Hallet that does turn on the style quite brilliantly. also another chap, Grant Burge produces Shiraz of amazing quality, and if you do a wee bit of scouring around you will find some stoaters.
£5 - Wildcard by Lehmann (Oz) £10+ the Rhone, and definitely try Vacqueryas.

Tried them like them would drink them again

yellow tail

Pretty much any Austrailian Shiraz will tick the box, but in particular try Howcroft Estate,

I'm a fan of Jacob's Creek for Shiraz... it's got great body and a nice finish.

I beg of you to try "Black Opal". It has a good balance of tannins and berry, and it finishes long but a little opaque, like a shiraz should (Outback Steak House uses it). May I suggest a Cote du Rhone instead...? Look at "Chataue Neuf du Pape"... Much better, ask your wine person for CNP. If you're on a budget try the old screwtop "Perrin Reserve".

Just for the record- yellow tail is putrid.

my fave shiraz at the mo is hardys oomo. guaranteed to hit the spot! also try mcwilliams yellow label shiraz, jacobs creek reserve shiraz. theyre both pretty damn fine too, lots of body about them

The answers you have already received give you a very good spread of really good Shiraz wines. (Especially the Howcroft Estate). However if you are in the UK do try Penfolds Koonunga Hill from the Barossa Valley in South Australia, or an estate bottle Chilean Shiraz from eith the Central Valley or the Curico valley. If you happen to be in Oz then do try the Coolangatta Estate from near Nowra - you will not be disappointed. With any red meet but especially beef you will find them a perfect compliment. Quaff and enjoy

if you want one that is under four pounds chilean. canto de flora is a great drink and far superior to many that cost double. the only place i've seen it is morrisons supermarkets.
