Can they really make alcohol taste good, or even taste like water?
is it possible for companies to make hard alcohol taste good, or even like nothing?on a standard bottle of like vodka, 750 ml at 40% alc, really only 300 ml,or 10 ounces is actual alcohol. why dont companies make the taste better. with the technology we have today i cant understand how and why they are not doing this. even to just make that extra 60% something else like an already added drink mixer then the companies would gain so much more sales. most people dont like hard alcohol because of the taste, and even with mixers and chasers it can still be very bad. now imagine that when you make a drink the alcohol comes pre mixed with something to make it taste decent, and then once you add your own drink mixer the alcohol will not have a taste at all. for those of you that understand what im trying to say please comment

No, he's not talking about cutting alcohol w/ mixers, and he's not talking about spoiling mr. cognac's acquired taste; he's talking about chemically controlling how a substance reacts with the taste buds of average Joe Drinker, which is a phenomenal question, as this could drastically increase the marketability of a product.
I too have trouble believing the technology for this innovation is out of reach. I can only assume that the U.S. prohibits certain forms of flavor enhancing to protect the public that would foolishly abuse this product. It is the body's natural reaction to receive alcohol negatively because it is essentially a poison, abused for fun, and marketed for capitalism.
My only objection to my own assumption is that a society must exist somewhere in the world that is both technologically advanced and has loose alcohol regulations. Why hasn't this been done?
I for one enjoy the use and abuse of alcohol to a certain extent, but I do feel that by greatly improving the taste of alcohol we would be greatly increasing the use of alcohol, and increasing the 'dumbification' of our society.

Well, if you do not enjoy drinking alcohol, you do not have to drink it. Seriously, I do not understand what you are suggesting.
Lets say vodka, if you wanted a weaker drink, just add less vodka. For example a orange juice with just a splash of Vodka. Or use a premium vodka like Beveldere for a smoother taste.
Taste is very subjective and personal, I would be really upset if they changed the taste of my favourite cognac or scotch.
They do have drinks like this that are pre-made.
As for drinks that taste "good" check out liqueurs. Those generally taste sweet and delicious.
Like a Butterscotch schnapps and Hot cocoa. YUM!
