Why can't we buy a beer before 21?!

Question: I don't know, that's a weird age. Here in Canada it's 18 in 3 provinces and 19 everywhere else. It works for us, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you guys down there.

Because its illegal

You know the youth; they always try too hard to look "awesome yet mature" by doing things that are meant for adults (by law). Sellers will think they'll drink `em.

Because your government thinks you are idiots. And not enough young people vote so that opinion is not likley to change any time soon.

I have two 17 year old children, so underage drinking concerns me. But in my opinion, if 18 is the age when my son can go to war, then 18 is the age when he should be allowed to decide if he wants to drink alcohol or not.

Because they say that the human body is not developed enough to handle alcohol consumption until age 21... but my question is...how is that the human body is developed enough to enlist in the military and die for its country long before 21... sounds like crap to me...

Because the government set the legal drinking age to 21???

When I was a teenager, they lowered the drinking age to 18...apparently, there was too much drinking and driving among the 18-21 year olds, so they moved it back to 21.

You can buy a beer almost any time of day. I guess it depends where you are living.

Because most of the people in power to change the law don't care because they're already over 21.

If I could have purchased beer under 21, I might never have gotten into home brewing. So I suppose for me something positive came out of it.
