Smirnoff vs. mikes?!

Question:

Smirnoff vs. mikes?

a 12 oz flavored smirnoff and a mike's hard lemonade supposedly have the same amount of alcohol right?, but is there something in a mikes that makes the effect of the alcohol on your body less potent? any other differences between these two drinks you can tell me are also appreciated.

i'm asking this because one night after a huge meal, i had one mikes and two flavored smirnoffs, drank them over a course of a couple hours and got a little buzz, a couple weeks later all i had no meal but a bunch of pretzels, drank two mike's in about an hour and didn't feel any effect. what could be the cause of that? is it something about the suger in mikes, or maybe pretzels absorb alcohol really well? and i'm assuming i don't have a high alcohol tolerance since i am a small person and just recently started drinking (socially)

i know i'm asking a lot, but do you think a regular 5% beer would have a greater effect on me than a mike's or smirnoff, just wondering

There are many factors that affect the absorption and potency of alcohol in your system. Pretzels and other bread foods tend to absorb alcohol good, so that could be part of the reason.

There are other factors that could affect the effect of alcohol. If your mind is elsewhere when you drank them, the alcohol can feel less potent. If you are extremely tired, alcohol can also have less of an effect on you.

I usually feel pretty wasted after 4-5 drinks in up to 2 hours time.

I once went to the club when I was pissed off at a friend, I was still feeling sober after 5 drinks in an hour and a half.

Another time I went to the bar feeling really tired after being up for 20+ hours, and after 3 shots in one hour I still felt stone sober.

Smirnoff

Both products are actually made in a brewery just like beer. they contain a mixture of beer and flavoring. I believe that Mikes has slightly more alcohol.

The effects of alcohol on your body can be unpredictable.

If you want a small buzz, drink beer or wine coolers.
If you want a bigger buzz, drink vodka or rum (peach and apple flavors are yummy).
If you want to get trashed, drink Bacardi 151 or grain alcohol.
