What drinks can I serve at an Italian-themed dinner party?!

Question: I'm having guests over for a Dinner party. I'm serving antipasto (artichoke hearts, olives, meats), salad, lasagna & tiramisu. I need a signature cocktail to go along with the theme. I'm trying to avoid campari (too bitter) and i don't think guys will want to drink bellinis. Any suggestions?

How about this one, it looks good.

lots of wine

an italian wine

Sgroppino

1 cup chilled prosecco (Italian sparkling white wine)
2 tablespoons chilled vodka
1/3 cup frozen lemon sorbet
1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh mint leaves

Makes 2 drinks

wine wine and (omg guess what?!) MORE WINE!

Serve sangria - red wine, chopped or sliced fruit (use any combination you have on hand, or whatever you think sounds good), a splash of brandy or triple sec; honey or orange juice to sweeten if you think necessary, and sparkling water if you want it to be bubbly. It would be easy as pie to whip up a few pitchers of this. It's not too girlish, and its super delicious!

I second the sangria suggestion, make a white and a red. But if you're not inclined to go that route............poinsettas would be festive and easy.

Sparkling white wine, drop a teaspoon or so of concentrated cranberry juice in each glass. Done!

Prosecco (an italian sparkling wine) is a must, followed by a few different bottles of red wine (merlot, cabernet, shiraz) along with a pitcher of sangria would be ideal....

Bottles of grease!!!!!!!!

I prefer Grappa and Frascatti and usually Chianti. Any good full bodied red Italian wine as well.

wine isn't a cocktail but of course you need some of it. i wholeheartedly agree with the prosecco suggestion, would be great with the artichokes & other antipasti you mentioned.

a cocktail to have as an apertif would have to be the AMAZING aperol spritz, but it is very hard to find aperol in the USA. if you can find it, make the spritz by blending about 2/3 white wine (again, prosecco is good for this) and 1/3 aperol - on the rocks. add a spritz of seltzer/club soda, garnish with an orange slice & a green olive. yummy.

p.s. = sangria is not italian!!!
