Is light beer less carbs or less alcohol than regular?!
Answers: Yeah, it's typically both. The carbs are lower since it's light beer, but in the process, the amount of alcohol also usually lowers a few %.
It has less carbs check out the link
It's actually considered light because there are fewer calories in it than are in regular beer.
less carbs
It is called light beer because is made to have less carbs or calories but the process generally results in less alcohol content as well.
less carbs & less alcohol
Definately.
Fewer carbs
Fewer calories
Less alcohol
Less flavor
All of these because they use fewer raw ingredients in the same amount of liquid, and it goes through a chemical process to strip the grains of many sugars.
We all know the difference in carbs and calories from regular beer to light beer, thanks to the Miller Lite attack ads.
What they don't tell you is American macro-Light beer is 4.2% alcohol by volume, where as the full-calorie version is 5.0% alcohol by volume.
They also don't tell you that it's cheaper to make light beer, since it has fewer raw ingredients and the fermentation time is less, despite the fact that it sells at the same price as full-calorie... gotta pay for advertising somehow.
Plus all the preservatives and chemicals used in the mainstream macro-beers... formaldehyde is one of the big ones!
Not to mention the flavor is offensive, at best.
Try a good Craft Beer. Get away from the mainstream industrial beers and experience what real quality and flavor is...
Cheers!
