You ahve to be 18 to attend a Hookah Bar.It is not illegal. No you do not get a "high" off of it. It actually started in the middle east as a way of people to come together, talk, and enjoy a hookah. Now its very popular in the US. Infact i own one, i love it.
You smoke Hashish, its a combination of dried fruid and a little bit of tobacco. The ice cold water makes the smoke nice n cool and rather refreshing.
Its legal as long as your 18
A hookah is like a bigger bong, it's in the disney movie alice in wonderland when the catepillar is on the mushroom and smoking it and blowing big smoke circles. You won't be able to get high off it at a hookah bar bc they just use flavored tobaccos like strawberry vanilla and apple and stuff. I know many middle easterns who use them, it's popular there, and they put a type of ouzo or other liquor for the water and get the alcohol in there blood system right away. I'm sure you could use it at home like a bong to smoke other things and I'm pretty sure you havbe to be 18 to smoke one at a hookah bar. hope this helps
Well I am Lebanese...from the Middle East. A hookah is a water bong intended for the use of smoking flavored tobocco. The bottom part is filled with water or whatever liquid u want, the top part is called the head, u put flavored tobocco in there. Many flavors such as strawberry, grape, double apple etc. Then there is a hose that comes out of the side of the hookah, u put charcoal on the top of the head and u smoke it. Its a Middle Eastern "hobby".
You are able to a achieve a "high" off of it but the high is followed by a headache. Anyone who is not used to smoking will for sure get a little buzz off of it because it produces all of smoke and your inhaling it. But to get a real high, some people put weed in the top of it...they mix it with the flavored tobocco.
As with all tobocco you have to be 18 to attend a hookah cafe, not bar lol.
Smoking hookah for an hour is like smoking 100 cigarettes, so I dont recommend it and I smoke cigarettes.
Lebanese say argeelee, Egyptians say sheesha I think the word Hookah is Indian. The Hookah orginated in Egypt :)
