Interested on South American Wine or Spanish Rioja Wines?!

Question:

Interested on South American Wine or Spanish Rioja Wines?

I just noticed that people were only into French, Italian, California wines. I want to know if they tried different kinds...

Answers:
There are other interesting wines from Spain aside from Rioja, various garnacha & tempranillos, riberas, and cavas, and of course the fabulous sherries like the Amontillado and Oloroso. Also, I love the Portegese whites like Vinhos Verdes -- such a nice food wine particularly the Alvarinho.

And port! I once passed up a chance to buy a bottle of the Dow 1960 for cheap! Argh!

As for the South Americans, I have had some good inexpensive cabernets from Chile and I do like Argentine malbec, but I don't really know much about what other things might be good.

Chilean wines are quite good.

Some labels to check out and enjoy:

Cousi?o Macul
Casillero del Diablo (probably the best wine I've ever had!)
Olarra
Los Vascos
Santa Catalina
Vi?a Linderos (this one might not exist any more)
Gato Blanco
