Does champagne become skunked like beer?!

Question: . . . if it's chilled and then removed from the refrig and chilled again at a later date.

Answers: . . . if it's chilled and then removed from the refrig and chilled again at a later date.

In a word: No.

Beer skunks from the degradation of the oils present in beer due to the use of hops. Champagne has no hops, therefore no oils to go rancid. It can, however suffer ill effects from being mistreated- the greatest risk being oxidation, but I think you'll be fine as long as you don't cook it in the attic or a closed up car or open it and try to re-cork it.
