Does your local pub landlord drink a lot?
My local's landland is a recovering alcoholic! Is it the fact that alcohol just happens to be there?

i am a bar maid and my boss certainly likes to have a drink but then from my experiance most ppl in the bar trade tend to have a very acctive sosial life involving round having a drink ! but not just the publicans and staff you would be amazed if you seen how many ppl come in every day and have 7 plus pints/drinks a night and every night
In my experience, yes.
I've worked in a couple of bars and pubs, and in al of them landlord / lady was a pretty heavy drinker. By 'heavy' I mean an average of 4-5 pints a night. Doesn't sound that excessive, I know, but that amount of alcohol's definitely not good for your body.
Our Steward at the social club we went to was dreadful,you always ended up with trebles instead of singles,which is fine if you want to get smashed but not if you don't!
A great number of Landlords/managers of pubs/bars end life in the trade as alcoholics, but my landlord does not drink alcohol or smoke but has just had a heart attack
