Why do you drink wine?!

Question:

Why do you drink wine?

Is it the taste? The social aspect? The wineries? Do you like seeking out your favourite vintage wine online or at specialist stores?

Answers:
As far as taste, I prefer sweet over dry and red over white. I like to drink it because it's healthy for me in moderation, makes me feel mellow, and is very relaxing after a stressful shift at work or a strenuous workout session. I generally shop in both wine stores and online. For one of my favorite reds, try:

just on special occasions that every day

I like that taste of it mostly flavored wine to go with my cooking or to have every now and then with dinner

I love to drink red wine, it brings out the flavor in my steaks and pasta.

I do not drink it because it gives me a headache!
my mom once a year has wine bread and grapes

its an appitizer for the other stuff

Just a socially acceptable way to get another dose of ethanol.

You drink wine to enhance the flavor of a certian food. For seafood I recommend some white wine. For dessert Ice Wine, for red meats, red wine. I drink wine because it enhances the experience of taste on my palate.

i think wine tastes good and i drink it because it goes great with certain meals. and its always nice to have friends over and sip on some wine while chatting.

I dont!

Good wine has good flavors. It goes alot better with a meal than a beer would.

The taste & it is good for health and it makes you happy. (--,)

Because coffee tastes terrible with grilled fish.

the taste

wine is an acquired taste. I started to drink wine first, and being 4th generation wine business, comes with the territory I suppose. So I guess I do like the taste. I usually order wine when I am out because, being a girl, I watch my calories, and wine has the least amount of calories among most alcoholic beverages and relatively low to minimual carbohydrates. Not to mention wine goes with far more food than any other cocktail.

i do work in the wine industry and have been spoiled with tons of options since 1998. so that does tend to sway my choice. I have certain favorites in both red and white. Zin, Shiraz, Pinot for red and Sauv blanc and Pinot Grigio for white. I have favorite wineries that I usually have, and if I don't see them on the menu, I ask the wine person or bartender.

Because of the taste, being with friends, eating, and it's a nice way to relax after a hard day's work.
