Whats the strongest beer i can buy in a convenience store?!
with the highest alcohol content per one bottle/canWww@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
The US does not make it to where a beer cannot have above a 6% alcohol content as the previous poster suggests!. 5!.9% is not HIGH for a beer at all!. It's probably more about the median due to all the very low alcohol content in a lot of the commercially brewed domestics!. There are several beers out there that are higher than 6%!. These beers are usually your darker colored stronger flavored beers!. The stronger flavors in these beers is sometimes a result of heavier alcohols in the beer!. Most people think that ethanol is the only alcohol in beer, but this just isn't the case!. While it makes up the majority of the alcohol, there are other alcohols such as propanol, isobutanol, active amyl alcohol, iso amyl alcohol, and 2 phenol ethanol!. Forget the commercial lagers like Bud or Coors as these have lower alcohol content!. These beers are highly filtered as well, to keep the taste the same nationwide!. If you move into some smaller breweries, you will find alcohol contents start rising!. Sam Adams seems to continually have high alcohol content beers!. My "source" is an article discussions several different high alcohol content beers that Sam Adams has produced!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
my dad drinks Natural Ice!. it has 5!.9%!. which is really high!. thats PER can!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Unless your near Canada, the previous poster is right!. Ice beers (Natural, Bud Ice (do they still make bud ice!?!?)) Will have the highest achohol content!. Because they a brewed at near freezing some water cyrstalizies and is filtered out!.
However, the difference won't be much!. 5!.5% vs 5% or so, acohol content is regulated in the US!.
It won't be like drinking the 7!.2% beer that you get in CanadaWww@FoodAQ@Com

My ex drank 211!. It was around 8%Www@FoodAQ@Com
Most convenience stores don't have too much in stock, so ice beers will be a reliable choice!. Malt liquor is also high, such as Steel Reserve, which is 8!.1% (some places regulate it to 6!.0%)!. Tastes like ****, but hey, its cheap too!.
A better convenience store will carry some higher quality brews!. Sam Adams Double Bock, for example, is 8!.8%!. And Sierra Nevada pale ale is 6!.6%!. These are also strong in flavor, so if your goal was to have a 12 pack of them, that's a very difficult task (and a 2500 calorie effort)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sam Adams Utopia is a 25% alcohol beer, and it can be bought in a convenience store but not very many; in fact, I don't know where to buy one!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depends on the store itself and also state liquor laws!.
Some states are still seemingly stuck in the stone ages in terms of liquor laws and cap their beers at a certain level!.!. meaning that above that level it can't be sold!.
For the people proclaiming ice beer to be the highest you can get, they are correct to an extent!.!.!.!. meaning certain convenience stores likely won't have anything higher!.
That being said if you can find the right store and again assuming you live in a state with reasonable liquor laws, you can find something much higher!. In the grand scheme of things ice beers aren't really even that strong!.!.!.!. Not when you can find American Craft Beers and Belgian Ales routinely at 10 percent or higher!.
also don't listen to the people trumping Canadian and Australian Beer!. Sure both Countries have some quality beers, but neither can touch The US!. It's a shame that so many people still associate American Beer with Bud/Miller/Coors!.
In reality the only Country out there that even competes with The US in terms of quality and variety is Belgium!. Would rate Belgian Beer first!.!.!. US Craft Brewed Beers a very close second!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
