Answers:
sounds like you are allergic

That means 2 things 1) that you will break out alot is you drink 2) If you continue to drink even moderately, there is a MUCH higher chance you will become an alcoholic!.

Those rashes are your body's wayof telling you NO!.

I would listen to your body!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

whoa! that's wierd go to the doctorWww@FoodAQ@Com

I think you might be alergic! LOL that sucksWww@FoodAQ@Com

It sounds to me like you are definitely allergic to it!. If you ate something strange that you've never had before it could be a reaction to that as well, but if not, its more than likely the booze in the drink!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could be allegic!. Were you outside drinking - could be an allergy to certain bugs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You may be allergic to it, so I wouldn't drink!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try a different alcoholic drink in small quantities if you are determined to experiment, but I recommend staying teetotal personally!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I recommend seeing a doctor for some sort of allergy test so that you can know what to avoid next time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Facial swelling can occur for many reasons!.

* A severe allergic reaction can cause the entire face to swell!.
* A skin infection (cellulitis) may be present!. Cellulitis within the eye socket (orbital) or around the eye (periorbital) is a very serious condition and can spread rapidly!. Discharge from the eye and irritation of the inside of the eyelids (conjunctivitis) also may be present!.
* A salivary gland infection, inflammation, or stone formation between the ear and jaw or under the chin can cause the face to swell!.
* Mouth or dental problems, such as an impacted tooth, a tooth abscess, or gum disease, may cause swelling!.
* Mumps can cause swelling on one or both sides of the face and neck!.
* A sinus infection (sinusitis) may cause facial swelling, though this is rare!. If swelling is related to a sinus infection, it will be located over the affected sinus!.

Occasionally you may wake up in the morning with puffy eyes or a swollen face from lying flat in bed!. This type of swelling goes away on its own!. As long as the swollen area is not red or tender, it is not usually a cause for concern!.

The treatment of facial swelling depends on the cause!. Call your health professional for an evaluation if you are having problems with facial swelling!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well you might be allergic, but because you drank it your body would likely reject it from the inside first!. Meaning the inside of your mouth would swell, blocking your airway!. But i am no Doctor, so go see one!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vodka 5%!? Maybe 50% (100 proof)!.

That's like 10 proof and I think you misread the label!. That's what BEER is!. If you want to know for sure, try a glass of wine or a bottle of beer!. If you get no reaction, then try a different mixed drink without vodka!.

More than likely you may be allergic to something ELSE in the beverage, like sulfites (preservatives)

Answer

Some people are more sensitive to the effects of alcohol than are others!. However, this doesn't mean you have an alcohol allergy!.

A true food allergy involves your immune system!. In such cases, your immune system mistakenly identifies a specific food or a component of that food as a harmful substance!. Your immune system triggers certain cells to produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies to fight the "enemy" food or food component!. Signs and symptoms of food allergy include tingling in the mouth, hives, breathing difficulties, and swelling of your lips, tongue or throat!.

An alcohol allergy would be very uncommon!. However, you could be allergic to other ingredients in an alcoholic beverage, such as wheat or sulfur dioxide, a preservative!. There are also substances in some alcohol beverages such as wine that can cause flushing or even rashes!.

Still, it's more likely that you have an alcohol intolerance — which means you are more sensitive to the normal effects of alcohol!. Alcohol can cause a variety of immediate adverse effects on the body, including headache, rapid heartbeat, nausea or vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, nasal congestion, or warm, red, itchy skin!.

Many people of Asian descent experience an unusual flushing reaction after drinking alcohol — even in very small amounts!. This is caused by a genetic disorder in which the body is unable to break down alcohol completely!. Some research suggests that people who experience alcohol flush reaction may be at increased risk of alcohol-related conditions, such as cancer of the esophagus and liver disease!.

The only solution to all of these problems is to avoid alcohol!.

Rarely, severe pain following alcohol ingestion may be a sign of a more serious underlying disorder, such as Hodgkin's disease — also known as Hodgkin's lymphoma!. If you experience unusual symptoms after ingesting alcohol, consult your doctor!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
