I'm not sure how to make beer but I know a very simple and effective method of making cider. To do it you will need some balloons, some empty bottles of something like Pepsi, some yeast and some apple juice.
Pour the apple juice into the pepsi bottle, almost to the top but not quite. Then add in a spoonful of yeast and pull a balloon over the top of the bottle. The chemical reaction of the yeast with the apple juice will cause gas that will cause the bottle to explode which is why you must empty the balloon of gas every day or so. After about a week you will have drinkable cider that is around 15% strength.
