I never ever mix drinks. If I start with wine, I end with wine. If I start with whiskey I end with whiskey. Quickest way to feel bad the next day is to have different drinks in a short space of time. Try it and see

i drink water after dinner.
grab the kessler fifth, drink it till it's gone, beat my old lady and kids, then it's off to bed to pass out drunk.
If I'm dining out, it's finishing my water or iced tea (after having beer). At home, I'll just have another beer.
i like white russians.....the recipe is 2 parts kahlua, 2 parts cream or milk, 1 part vodka, tons of ice.

It's not a cocktail, but a Port-style wine is nice after dinner, especially with dark chocolate!
