For the gin fans?!
For the gin fans?
In your opinion, what is the best gin out there. Cite any reasons be it taste, cost, or something personal. For me, it's Gordon's.
Answers:
I am partial to both English and Dutch Gins, but due like the German schnapps with a very heady juniper taste.
I guess it comes down to your tastes, the way you mix them, if your making a martini or with tonic.
I got into drinking Gin and Tonic when I first was able to consume alcohol, now I just drink the tonic.
Gordon's.
It's just a better brand of gin compared to the others.
Burnett's
Seagram's
Hendrick's
Bombay Sapphire
Tanquere, or however it's spelled, is the best in my opinion. It is rather pricey though.
Hendrick's Gin is my new favorite!
It has a lovely floral quality, very soft and sip-able.
It costs about $30.00 for a 750ml bottle, but is worth it!
Martha Stewart recently featured it on her show.
GINEBRA SAN MIGUEL GIN

Bulldog Gin
Bulldog strays from the standard gin formula in several ways. It comes in a macho dark bottle, which hides its colorlessness. The bottle is short and stout, unlike the vast majority of tall, thin, clear contenders. And it plays up the botanicals (herbs and spices) on the label. Compared with gins such as Plymouth, Miller's and Potocki, Bulldog is neither especially smooth nor unusually dry. Natural poppy and dragon eye balance the citrus. You may detect these citrus flavors, but they are quickly overshadowed by alcoholic heat. Bulldog will likely work best in dirty martinis and gin and tonics.
Cost $28
Magellan. The use of the blue lilac flower gives the gin a distinctive blue tinge that's visually appealing, and the other flavoring agents are very well balanced.
Close to the top of my list would be Beefeater Wet (not yet available in all markets?) and if you can find a bottle of the now-discontinued Tanqueray Malacca.
I prefer Gilbey's or Gordon's. I find them quite versatile as I enjoy them iced, neat or mixed in a Gin and Ginger or Gin and Tonic.
My favorite is Tanqueray, it tastes best. Bombay is good, Gordon's passes.
