If it is against FCC regulations to show the consumption of alcohol on TV...?!

Question: If it is against FCC regulations to show the consumption of alcohol on TV!.!.!.!?
How does the Food Network get away with it!? Does this ruling apply to only broadcast TV!.!.!. If it did we would see beer commercials with people drinking beer on cable as well!. Do they substitute apple juice and water like sitcoms and dramas!?

Or is there a regulation I’m not aware of!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
They show alcohol consumption on TV all the time!. Conan O'Brien has Martha Stewart on the show all the time making alcoholic eggnog and other odd mixed drinks, and Conan is always downing them!. Many TV dramas and sitcoms show people drinking and smoking all the time!. Not sure about regulation, but it doesn't seem to be all that taboo!. Even beer and Bailey's commercials on regular networks show people drinking!.

Now cigarette commercials, those I know are illegal!.

Edit: On Conan, not 100% certain, but it definitely looked like original and real alcohol being poured/mixed!. And Conan did a good job acting like he was drinking real alcohol!. Kind of seems stupid to fake it!. However, FCC regulations are different for daytime and evening television as well!. Now I'm inspired to do some research!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mayor their are some archaic non enforced rules from the 50s about broadcast TV rites of alcohol consumption and such!. Ever watched bonanza!? Any one who ever drank a shot of whiskey felt its natural bite!. These TV cowboys were slugging down unsweetened tea!. Cable and sat TV does not have the same regs however!. The food network and fine living can surely show people downing a shot of Cabo Wabo tequila just as easy as showtime can show the breasts of wonder woman Linda Carter in her early role on Easy Rider as a hot tub hussy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Fcc regulations don't apply to cable/satellite/ pay/ tv as it does for network television!. You can get away with alot more on stations like FX,USA, Food Network and so forth!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
