Question:

What's a great summer sipping wine? Just kicking it on the deck.?

White
Red
Dry Rose

Answers:
I say a Rose from the South of France slightly chilled would be perfect. My absolute favorite is the Domaine Tempier Bandol Rose, arguably the best Rose in the world.

I'm a Pinot Grigio fan myself for whites. For reds, I prefer a Sangeovese, and for a dry Rose, well, a good Sutter Home White Zin.

Just a nice White Zin is always good and easy to drink.

Moscato

A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

Sometimes I get in the mood for those semi-bubblies that aren't champagne -- like prosecco, cava, moscato d'asti, or even vinho verde.

Pinot Grigio! It's a nice light white wine.

for white i always like a nice chilled chardonnay.
for red, one of my favorites is a malbec...i suggest one from argentina or chile because they are the best i have ever tried and are often cheaper than the french ones.
for rose, you could go for a white zin but i think theyre kind of gross.

Any white or blush wine is good; it's too hard to sweat out the tannins from red wines on hot days. Plus, the headaches the morning after from red wines are always worse.

My gig on sipping wines is more along the lines of Chardonnay, mainly because it's sweeter then say, a Pinot Grigio. As for reds, sipping wise, a light Pinot Noir or a simple Shiraz works for me.

I can't respond to all types -- but I definitely enjoy
Pinot Grigio -- it works in most occasions!

if you are like me, i enjoy sweet wines. i drink the cheap stuff.. arbor mist. and i love it. they have an island fruit pinot grigio that is one of my favorites. also a cranberry twist white merlot. good over ice while chillin outside.

Pinot Grigio - Santa Margarita "enjoy with some fuji apple slices toped with some brie cheese and a bit of cajeta.

Caymus Conundrum White Table Wine, California. Actually it doesn't say Caymus on the lable anymore, but it's still the same vineyard. It's called Conundrum because for some it starts sweet and finishes dry, and for others it's the exact opposite. A little pricey but a great buzz!

I would highly suggest a semi-sweet or semi-dry white wine. Red wines tend to be heavy, which are more of a favorite in the cool/colder seasons. If you are thinking a blush, I would tend toward a semi-dry or semi-sweet. I have yet to find an excellent dry rose that suits everyone.

If you are unsure of what white wine to choose, I would go to a winery nearby. In fact, take a few close friends and make a day of hitting wineries for free wine sampling. This way, you and your friends can find something you all agree on. My husband and I do this quite often and then we buy a couple bottles for another time. You may also have some shops in your area that sell wine from various wineries. They usually will have a couple wines to taste that are perfect for the current season. Your best bet is to try to find a couple different wines that everyone likes so that you have a good variety.

Good luck in your search!
