I like the Zin!. It is appreciated these days, but not as much as it deserves!. Taste trends!.!.!.I like to be on the outside!. Back when Chardonnay was the thing I would go for any other, sauvingnon blanc, vino verde, anything!. Now, I might pick a chard, just because its not so much the ubiquitous thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'd pretty much go anything but Merlot!. It's not that there aren't some good ones out there but unless you really plunk down some bucks they mostly seem to be fairly simple!. You could say the same for a really cheap zin too I guess but I think there still is more complexity there than in your basic merlot!. Shiraz give a lot of bang for your buck but I will say it's darn tough to beat a good cabernet sauvignon!. I've had expensive zins and shiraz and both were really good!. They offered several layers but it's tough to beat the complexity and finish a solid cabernet offers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Shiraz!. And Mek probably prefers reds over whites which is why he didn't go w/ pinot grigio!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
