Question: Ever been COURT-ORDERED to AA classes!?

Answers:
As a recovered alcoholic who went to AA for years, I have to tell you that I really hated to see those court-ordered people coming!. Not because I hated the people themselves--lots of them were great--but because I think it's totally wrong to order people into AA!. I think it's unconstitutional, frankly!.

As far as the concept is concerned, i!.e!. God takes away your drinking problem, a lot of people can't swallow that one!. If you're one of them and you do want to quit drinking and feel you need some support, there are secular programs such as Smart Recovery, LifeRing and Rational Recovery!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Im sure a lot of people court ordered to an AA class, might have thoughts of rejecting it! Thats what we are learning about in health right now, haha

lol, no!. But my brother was, the main function of court order AA by the people taking it is to find new drinking buddiesWww@FoodAQ@Com

The problem with recovery classes is that you have to want to change!. Very few people change simply because they hear something new!. (more so if there is chemical dependancy involved!.) You will have better luck if you go to AA because you WANT to, not because you were sent!.

I've never been to AA, though I have been through a couple of anger management courses!. If you can get over the idea of needing help, they can assist you in more ways then you can imagine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
