As a beer advocate it is OK!. Pretty weak as far as stouts go!. O'hara's Irish stout is much better!.!.!. and higher ABV!. Did you know Guinness is only 4!.3% ABV or so!?
As an Irishman it is a deplorable company!. Author Guinness registered St!. James Gate as an English Company and not an Irish!. He also supported English rule of the Irish!. During the fight for independence form Britain his son supported the execution of Irish rebels by the Black n' Tans!.!.!. Royal Irish Constabulary Reserve Force!. A sadistic lot of murderers and rapist employed by the English to "police" the Irish!. Author himself refused to pay taxes and for use of public water sources to the city of Dublin!. Catholics weren't allowed to be in management at the brewery until the 1960's or 70's and finally!.!.!. unless you live in Ireland the Guinness you're drinking isn't even made in Ireland!. Guinness is okay, it's one of the beers I drink if there's only Bud, Coors, and other pale lagers available at a bar!. Otherwise, in terms of stouts, it's on the low end of flavor, alcohol by volume, complexity, etc!. As far as Guinness being thought of as stronger than other beers, it's on the light end with only 4!.3% alcohol by volume!.!.!.that's even less than Budweiser!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
