Well, my parents started giving us Egg Nog on Christmas Eve laced with whiskey, amaretto or rum at a young age of 10!. It would make us tired!.

I took my first drink at 13!. However, I found myself an active member of a 12 step program as a direct result of me drinking too much too often!. If there is a history of alcoholism in your immediate family, especially mom or dad, I strongly urge you not to even start drinking, since Doctors have discovered their is a hereditary predisposition to alcoholism,
and alcoholism is a condition I would not wish on my worst enemy!. I have friends and a significant other who drinks and it doesn't bother me!. Alcohol is a great social lubcricant I just choose NOT to drink anymore myself!.
I believe my active alcoholism began when I was around 21 years of age, but I stayed in denial untill I was 45!.

when my parent would have get togethers at my house, i would always drink the little bit of beer he left in the bottles!. of course, he was buzzed and busy entertaining to notice what i was doing at the time!. i can't accurately recall my age but i know i was really young because my little brother was still a toddler ( and we are 3 years apart) so maybe 5 or 6 years old, is when i tasted my first beer!. but i started drinking around 5th or 6th grade(not a lot or often) i have not idea how old i was then!. and i started really drinking in 8th grade!. by the time i grauated from high school, my tolerance was ridiculous!. a year after high school i drank waaayyy too much and got alcohol poisoning!. once home but F'd up badly, my mom refused to take me to the hospital to teach me a lesson !. i laid in my bed for 3 and a half days recovering (not fun) and it took me two years (i was 20yrs!. old) before i could drink again!. 5 years later, my tolerance and taste is super evolved from before and i know my limits and myself well!. that was the only time i lost control of myself like that!. a lesson well learned, i love my mom!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
