Does cheap champagne have a screw cap or cork usually?!
Does it depend on whether you buy cheap champagne in a bar or off license!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Real champagne only comes from the Champagne region of France!. All else is just sparkling wine being inaccurately labeled as champagne!.
Real champagne has a cork, but I've seen the corks made out of different materials!.
You can try real champagne for under $40, and it's worth it!. Look for Pommery Brut Royale!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Champagne always has a mushroom cork ( the real ones anyway)!.
Some sparkling wines( Champagne wanna be's) will have a screw top!.
Those are the cheapo's!.
Doesn't depend on anything!.
Either it does or it doesn't!.
Some cheap champagnes and Asti's also have the mushroom cork!.
But the lowest tier has screw tops!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It does not depend on where you buy it since the decision on how to seal the bottle is the winery's choice, not the establishment selling the wine!. As for the actual decision on what to seal it with, a lot more of it depends on where the winery is!. I do not believe I have ever seen any sealed with a screwcap but there are a lot of Italian Prosecco's that have a bottle cap on it!. It looks more like a beer bottle's cap than anything else!. Champagne from France always seems to be real cork but there are a few I've seen that have a plastic cork inserted instead of a real cork!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
actual champagne will NEVER have a screw capWww@FoodAQ@Com
So much to know, so little brain!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
By definition, champagne MUST have a cork!. Otherwise, it is actually forbidden to call it champagne!. Whatever producer who would put a screw cap on a bottle of champagne would lose the right to sell anything called champagne in future!.
The regulations are very strict about it!.
Champagne must be produced in the Champagne region of France, or it CANNOT be called champagne!.
As you can see, if you see a "champagne" bottle with a screw cap, reject it as it is not the real McCoy!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
